How it works
A box in the shop, a portal in the cloud, and no single point of failure in between.

The appliance
A small Linux box sits on the shop network next to the printers. It dials out over HTTPS and one WebSocket — nothing dials in, so no firewall rules and no port forwarding. USB printers are detected automatically and matched to a signed compatibility package.

The QR sign
Each location, printer, room or campaign gets its own QR code with a random identifier. Print the PNG, the SVG or the ready-made sign, and revoke a code the moment it leaks.

The customer
They scan, upload, see a preview and a price, and pay. Only options the printer actually reports are offered, so nobody buys stapling from a printer that cannot staple.

The print
The job is encrypted per-job and sealed to that appliance. The appliance prints it and reports back what the printer said. A download is never treated as a finished print.

When the line drops
The appliance keeps printing queued and cached jobs, keeps taking cash, and records every transaction locally. When connectivity returns the events sync exactly once; anything ambiguous lands in a review queue instead of being guessed.

Afterwards
Documents are kept for the retention window — 48 hours by default — so staff can reprint, retry, move or recover a job. Then the keys are destroyed and the content is gone; the transaction record stays.
